CCHL Best Practices for Community HIE

The Center for Community Health Leadership is pleased to present the Best Practices for Community Health Information Exchange.

Representing the collective expertise of the Center’s Advisory Board and others who have been in the health information exchange (HIE) trenches, Best Practices provides prescriptive guidance on the establishment of sustainable HIE capable of providing demonstrable returns and accommodating the diverse needs of multiple stakeholders.

Much of what is shared is based upon the experiences of those who have already ventured down the path of establishing data exchange initiatives within local healthcare delivery systems. Whether they succeeded or failed, each has made a valuable contribution to a growing base of knowledge from which others can draw as they make their own way down the path toward community HIE.

We invite you to share this informative guide with your colleagues and those in search of assistance in establishing sustainable community-based HIE.
